I simply do not know what I would do minus my modest vehicle. It isn’t particularly big or excessively high-priced but it meets my requirements. Okay, my car might have a bumper sticker on the back proclaiming that my other car is a Porsche, although everybody else on the street appreciates this is a joke and highly unlikely to be true, I truly adore my baby car to bits and wouldn’t trade it for the universe.
Even if I did not love my vehicle like I do and got the opportunity to exchange it for the universe, I couldn’t, as it simply isn’t possible to get by without a vehicle in this country. Our public transport infrastructure is totally inadequate plus there aren’t any railway routes to a number of spots. The public bus servive does not operate across town, just to and out of the town centre and it is untrustworthy and susceptible to disruption due to union strike action. I know this through many years of relying on public transport which is why I appreciate my car even more.
Another explanation why I love my automobile is that it is an economy model and very affordable to own. Although the gas tank is nowhere around as big as that of a four wheel drive, for example, it costs me significantly less to fill it up since, not only is the gas tank smaller sized but the auto also uses less petrol than a larger vehicle would. The vehicle body is small and light and because it’s a 1. 3, and it uses less gas to accelerate than say a 16-valve. Not simply are the running expenses not as much, maintenance of automobiles like my own is cheaper as well. Oh, and it’s also a lot less costly to change the tires on my auto than a bunch of much larger cars with more torque. Furthermore, insurance coverage is less on my car at the same time because it falls into the ‘economy’ grouping. Insurance providers think that a less expensive car is cheaper to fix and consequently often charge owners of economy cars a smaller amount for their insurance.
Since I’m a woman I treasure the manoeuvrability of my compact vehicle. I enjoy the fact that I can park in smallish spaces and execute a 3-point turn on a penny, so to speak. I don’t enjoy operating my husband’s car for this reason and definitely will take my automobile over his any day due to compactness provided by the shorter wheel base. Furthermore,I favor my vehicle above my husbands’ because it is a hatchback and not a sedan similar to his. I have not been keen to drive it since I clipped the side of the back bumper on the side of the brick flower box beside the drive one time. Even though it was a tiny scrape and my husband was able to re-attach the fender where it became unclipped as a result of impact, I didn’t like the sensation of the dimensions of the vehicle being more than what I was used to. Sure I could easily get used to having a trunk protruding at the rear but offered the choice I will stay with my hatchback, thanks very much!
